Above are some ways to help those affected by the multiple, devastating wildfires burning across the Los Angeles area. Tens of thousands of residents have been forced to evacuate their homes as the fires continue to spread.
The Palisades Fire has burned nearly 16,000 acres, the Easton Fire over 10,000 acres, the Hurst Fire 700 acres, the Woodley Fire 30 acres, and the Lidia Fire 80 acres. According to the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, the Lidia Fire is 30% contained, while the others remain 0% contained.
At least five people have lost their lives, with many others injured. Over 1,000 buildings have been destroyed in the Palisades Fire alone. Nearly 1.2 million people in California are without power, including more than 950,000 residents across Los Angeles County as of this afternoon.
If you have additional resources to share, please leave them in the comments. All links mentioned above can be accessed via the link in my bio.
For those displaced by the fires, Airbnb.org, in partnership with 211 LA, is offering free, temporary housing. | Posted on 10/Jan/2025 08:59:10
