Alie Ward Instagram – Simone, Simone, Simone, Simone. How lucky I am to know her. Even though I didn’t know how to pronounce @simonegiertz’s last name (“@Yetch.store”) right for the first six months of our friendship, meeting her seven years ago is something that has changed my life, and today is her birthday. Not only is she brilliant and hilarious, with a creative brain that can invent everything from novel hangers to toothbrush helmets to chopped up pick-up trucks, she has the most generous soul and the kindest warmest heart. Last year I went through one of my darkest times and Simone showed up within minutes. She brought me clean socks and underwear when I was in the hospital. She lets me be myself no matter how happy or sad I feel. Her being in the world is a boon to us all, but her being my friend is an honor that seems almost unfair to the rest of the world who does not get to be her friend.
