I built an entire personal brand on cupcakes – from Sprinkles to my shows Cupcake Wars and Sugar Rush. I was DEEEP in cupcake-land, and I loved it! 😅🧁
But, when we made the huge decision to sell Sprinkles to private equity in 2012, my interests began to expand and evolve.
I wanted to keep showing up authentically and share all the new and exciting things I was doing.
👇🏼 BUT…
My cupcake fans weren’t all keen on pizza or entrepreneurship. That’s not what they had signed up for!
So… I went back to my old persona. I kept sharing the recipes people wanted until one day, I realized I needed to be honest to myself and my audience.
So I drummed up my courage and started sharing all the different parts of me. 💪🏼
It took a minute to make the transition and not everyone stuck around…but most did. 🥰
