Cloudy Zackrocki Instagram – Babygirl – the film that’s got everyone talking. Is it the groundbreaking masterpiece some claim it to be? I don’t think so, because let’s be real: some people just still aren’t ready for watching this level of sexual openness (which can be seen in the social media debate about the milk scenes in the movies… like, are we seriously appalled by that?).
But wow, it’s still incredible and @nicolekidman is nailing this role. She shines as a CEO who starts an affair with her intern, but the story runs so much deeper:
❗️ the dynamics of power, the aftermath of long lasting trauma, the appeal of submission after being in control 24/7, the depth of sexual fantasies, the generational differences in perceiving sex, the unexpected connection two strangers can have, and the shame women still face in expressing their desires which leads to them feeling the need to stay silent.
Layered, provocative, and thought-provoking. A must-watch? Definitely a conversation starter!
❗️PSA: Would or would not recommend watching this movie with your partner though, depending on your sex life: it will either make him super conscious about the possibility he might not deliver sexually, or (!) it will spark some new found interest in exploring your intimacy.
BONUS: the music in this movie is just 10/10. Big probs to #CristobalTapiadeVeer for this epic soundtrack.
