Demetria McKinney Instagram – My father wasn’t perfect…he didn’t always know what to say..how to fix…what to be….but he was unapologetically mine. He was one of the few people in my life who knew who and what I was at my core…and loved all of it. While I am thankful that he isn’t in pain anymore, the overwhelming sensation of loss can sometimes make me short of breath. I miss him.
While he wasn’t perfect, neither was I. I am FIERCLY protective of those I love and can be pretty outspoken about nonsensical things. He knew that and found balance in it. He smiled through the pain and citcimstance. He did his absolute best in an unfortunate situation.
I wasn’t ready to speak on this, but his passing unfortunately was posted and while that didn’t thrill me (clearly), I am grateful for the outpouring of love and support in this time of grief. To all who called, texted, dm’d, or stopped by….thank you. The support is not lost on me though, again, I wasn’t ready to talk about it. Even now I’m not. Please give room and grace for us to filter through this emotional bag I and my family have been handed. Keep the prayers coming …🙏🏾
