Elisa Donovan Instagram – I’ve had a hard time figuring out how to put together this whole evening into a post. The honor I feel to be a part of this *force* that is a host committee for the Second Annual Pierce’s Pledge FUNraiser is nearly impossible to put into words.
Being close to a thing sometimes makes it hard to see the power and the impact it has. When I step back, I am somewhat stunned by the raw beauty, intimacy, challenge & heart that is shared at these events. It is really something.
Amidst this unspeakable and very specific grief — that truly only Lesley and Christy and Chrystal & other moms who have lost children can fully understand — they are accomplishing something extraordinary. To show up and meet their grief head-on, to share their hearts and their pain to try to heal themselves and others, to try to glimpse moments of joy, to let us all remember and celebrate their children – I just — words fail.
I will stand with you and behind you and do anything and everything I can to make your children’s faces & spirits be remembered, and to stop #gunviolence from taking any more lives. Thank you to everyone who came out to support us. We are boundlessly grateful.
