I knew that one day I would have to say goodbye to playing Grace James and that time has come but I hadn’t really had a chance to process it all until more recently. No more James family. It makes me sad to think it. I’m gonna miss those guys. The whole experience seems like it went by so fast.
I was in my head about it at first. Do I post about it? Do I not post about it? However, I am posting about it and today I want to say thank you. It felt too removed not to and that’s not really my truth. Playing Grace was an honor and a big part of my life over the last six years. It was my first series regular role. I loved this character. It taught and healed me in ways I never knew I needed. The entire experience did.
Thank you to all the All American writers for making me a damn good mom. You guys are truly badass. Families felt seen. Thank you to the fans who rocked with us and got caught up in all the storylines. I loved seeing that. You guys are awesome! I loved to see how our youth were being inspired by Spencer’s journey too. ❤️ Thank you to my cast-mates and to the crew, I know that our paths will meet again. And Mr. Paysinger. Spencer. Thank you. 🙏🏾
