Before becoming a mum, I couldn’t quite imagine how I’d manage to keep making records and still be the kind of mum I wanted to be – the kind of brilliant mum I have. But here we are, at Reeperbahn Festival a couple of years ago, making it work, day by day. I’m so grateful to @wearemitc & @esns.nl for inviting me and Sumit Bothra of @sb3management last week to speak about parenthood in today’s music industry. What an honour it is to be speaking and sharing these stories. 📸 @chrisscottpham

I’m delighted to announce that I’ll be returning to Lithuania this August to perform two shows: Kaunas Valley of Songs on the 8th, and Palanga Concert Hall on the 9th, both with an orchestra ✨ I had the greatest time in Lithuania a few years ago, and I can’t wait to bring the show back. See you there! Tickets at link in profile. 📸 @jackson_ducasse

Amiran Melua, Babu, here you are in the last good summer we had together. This was taken in Batumi. The morning began with a book—a history of all the different religions—and as we made our way to the beach that day, every time we bumped into someone you knew, you’d stop and read them certain sections from it. Your calling in life, from when I came along, was to feed people and host the greatest supras. That delighted the 8-year-old me, confounded the 17-year-old me, and then, sometime in my 20s, your four degrees in culinary arts finally made sense once I was old enough to hear the stories of hunger in the gulags. You were one of the sportiest, with early morning bike rides well into your 60s and 70s. Your sense of humour—your love of joking around, or as we call it, Shakhiri—was truly unmatched. Thank you for giving me the greatest Grandad anyone could ever ask for. RIP K x

Found this old outtake of me trying (and failing) to string a sentence together for social media. I wasn’t sure about sharing it, but it feels like a pretty accurate representation of January – lots of attempts, good intentions, but ultimately a little messy 🤣
Here’s me in the makeshift vocal booth at the Gori Culture Centre, where we recorded In Winter. It wasn’t a studio, but we made it one – complete with a Hello Kitty blanket fort as my vocal isolation booth! Nine years on, and every winter takes me back to that beautiful time in Georgia with the @goriwomenschoir.

From the fabric that once hung as the backdrop behind me on stage to these beautiful pieces that you can now hang in your homes, seeing these screenprints come to life has been such a gift. If you’ve got one, I’d love to see it! Post a photo on your grid with #HallToWallWithKatie, tag me, and there’s a very good chance you’ll be one of five joining me for a virtual meet-and-greet. It’ll be a lovely way to connect in the new year. A limited number are still available at the link in my profile. 🎥 @isabellalilley #HallToWallWithKatie
