We had decided to do christmas & new years at home in Coeur D’Alene this year so I decided to squeeeeeze in a trip back home to Iceland to see my family, best friends, the christmas lights, have hot chocolate & whipped cream ❤️🎄🥹✨ ya know just all my christmas favorites!!!
I ALSO decided to make a quick trip to London for the weekend to see my family there (little did I know I was planning my own engagement right there when I decided to book that trip🤣)
I was suppose to land in Iceland at midnight on that sunday but after some delays I wasn’t leaving the airport until 1am & I was so tired. I called Brooks literally just to chat to stay awake because the drive is an hour (the whole time we were chatting I am thinking he is in states!!!!!) and as I get into parking garage I tell him I love him & say good night.
But when I opened our apartment door there he was, standing in the middle of our living room, surrounded by roses & candles & flower pedals & I just FROZE 😭✨ I was so shocked & so happy & literally my dream is coming true all at same time so I actually just froze and said nothing and didn’t even move for probably a good 30 seconds 🤣
But it was the most beautiful moment at 2am ❤️ After he proposed we just wanted to sit in the moment for longer, so I made us hot chocolate & whipped cream & we sat down on the couch together. I asked him to tell me EVERYTHING from the planning to the ring & we chatted until about 5am that morning!!
It was the most thoughtful proposal & perfectly us ❤️🌹 He did it in Iceland to honor that that too is our home (🥹), to also make memories there & so that we could share the news in person with our family & best friends there. And that week at home after was just that: THE MOST SPECIAL 💫☁️💖
I have just been up there swirling on a pink cloud and not sure I will ever come back down to earth actually 💍🤭 the happiest I have ever been & so excited to start this next chapter of life with my future HUSBAND!!!!! @brookslaich | Posted on 01/Jan/2025 04:10:36
