#SouthernCaliforniaEmergencyEquineEvacuation and @juliabagan rescued and transported this extremely burned mare from the Altadena fire yesterday.
Her owners abandoned her and a few others in a LOCKED turnout. If bolt cutters hadn’t been located by her other rescuers they wouldn’t have been able to get them out.
She is now safe at the vet but her treatment will be $2000 .
A donation was made to cover the first $2000 by a neighbor of the horse and rescuer Jacque but we need more to save her.
She is burned all over her back legs, pee area, face (nose/mouth/eyes).
Her eyes have ulcers from the burns and we are not sure how much smoke she inhaled. She can barely walk….
