🌍 2024 is the hottest year Earth has ever recorded.
Primarily through human caused climate change, it’s simple, the use of fossil fuels goes up and temperatures go up!
Records don’t fall lightly-it’s hard to break a record but they’re not just being broken-they’re being smashed.
1.5C above pre industrial levels for the first year
The highest level of greenhouse gasses in our atmosphere
The last 10 years have been the 10 hottest.
And if you’re thinking-it hasn’t been that warm here (this is a global average) but the UK had it’s 4th warmest year on record and warmest Spring.
High temperatures mean more extreme weather, droughts, floods & wild fires.
Why should we care? if these images don’t make you want to already? We are getting warmer, on track for 3C warming by the end of the century
The scenes there are unimaginable & many never thought it would happen to them & their homes-with a warming world-where next?
