I felt truly happy that day, so I wanted to share some BTS moments from this heartwarming event with you.
Even though I was sick as a dog the night before, the city welcomed me with open arms. I never imagined strangers could show so much care and appreciation. Thank you all for coming to see me and talk to me. Something shifted in me for the better – holding your hands, hearing your life stories, and seeing your smiles. Just watching you be so full of joy does something to a person.
Special thanks to the @mangafest team and MARIA, my amazing interpreter – I wouldn’t have been able to communicate for shit without her.
Merry Christmas to everyone celebrating. This day is especially meaningful to me because it’s my mother’s birthday – a bond and admiration I can’t even begin to describe. I wouldn’t be here without her. Or better said, anywhere.
To those without a warm home or loving family this time of year, whose lives have been changed or loved ones lost: every soul deserves to feel safe and secure. One day, I truly believe we’ll live in a kinder world.
