Mary McLeod Bethune enlisted the support of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt to assign the task of connecting an estimated 17MILLION pieces of mail to soldiers in Europe and their families back home during WWII.
No mail = low morale. 💌
The battalion was given six months to complete the task and managed to do it in 90 days.
