Took this photo just a couple weeks ago, and decided to save it for the right moment. Never could I have anticipated the turn of events to drive me to make this post. I keep thinking about when I decided to move to L.A.. Something I heard repeatedly from ignorant people who’ve never stepped foot in this city was this: “We call Los Angeles and California the ‘Cereal state’. You know why? Because it’s filled with nothing but nuts and flakes.” And you know what? Everyone can fuck right off with that! It wasn’t cute then, and it’s not cute now. This city has some of the most resilient, hard working, and kindest people you’ve ever met. Even in a city of 3 million people, the sense of community is palpable. Our numbers are only that much more indicative of our strength. That’s 3 million people who will gladly give their neighbor the shirt off their back and the food on their plate. Even in mine and Matt’s time of need, I haven’t wanted for anything. We have a warm bed, a roof over our head, and food in our bellies, all thanks to the community around us. My biggest regret in this moment of crisis is that I am not in a position to be able to open our home up to those who need it. But I will never forget this moment, and will do everything in my power to pay it forward next time when it’s needed. For anyone who doesn’t live here and feels the need to have a hot take online, I beg you this – Imagine if this was your city. Put yourself in these people’s shoes. Use an ounce of empathy. These are generational families who have lost their homes. Grandmothers and grandfathers. Sons and daughters. Working class folks, small business owners, and yes, entertainers and entrepreneurs. But in this moment, the most important identity that we all share, is that we are all Angelenos. That’s all that matters right now. I love you, L.A., and all the people who call you “home”. #losangeles #lafires🔥

ICYMI, the #criticalrole crew put out a holiday album! And no, this isn’t a joke. It’s a real thing! Well, ok, it kinda started as a joke… and like most jokes with us, it turned into a real thing. And honestly, it’s really fucking good! Not gonna lie, I get emotional every time I listen to it. In a weird way, it represents a decade of creating stories, and victory over many moments of strife over the year. Additionally, it got me singing again, which is my own little moment of triumph over my insecurities. AND, my song was co-written by @tomycardy, which is just the coolest!
