Natalie Cuomo Instagram – I wasn’t going to make a post about this but I feel like I have enough comments here on other posts to address it. This was the scariest week of my life. A month and a half after marrying my best friend, he was in the cardiac unit of the ICU for 4 days because of complications during the most ambitious feat I could imagine, and one of his biggest dreams, running 100 miles. Dan ran 58 miles before having to go to the hospital, and I ran the last ten with him to make sure he was okay. He’s now home and recovering. We have many questions we are getting answers to. I am so proud of him for the unbelievable strength he showed training for this race, running 70-80 miles a week, completing at least 7 50k runs in the last year, and running 58 miles on Saturday. He is the strongest person I know, and the funniest person I know. I am so grateful he is alive and healthy. Unfortunately as soon as I got home, I received additional news about a close family member of mine in the hospital, and I do feel overwhelmed about the unknown unknowns of life, and the way the universe can strip everything you love from you without you being prepared for it. They say you have a hundred problems until you have one health problem. And that resonates so strongly with me. I ask you all to practice gratitude for the little things in life, even just being able to sleep next to someone you love, or go to bed knowing you’ll see them in the morning. We all get so wrapped in the mundane details of life, the tiny stresses that don’t matter, and at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is your family and your health. | Posted on 11/Sep/2024 22:55:10
