Via @vanityfair 💘There’s no one in Hollywood—or anywhere else—like Natasha Lyonne. @nlyonne has lurked at the margins of the industry for a long time, but in recent years, she’s moved closer to the center—or maybe the center has finally come to her. After creating the Emmy-winning series ‘Russian Doll,’ Lyonne scored a hit with the charming retro murder mystery series ‘Poker Face’ and was acclaimed last fall for her moving performance in ‘His Three Daughters.’ Her days are now a frantic treadmill: appearances in the upcoming ‘Fantastic Four’ movie and Taika Waititi’s ‘Klara and the Sun’; producing, starring in, and directing some episodes of Poker Face’s second season; and developing projects for her own production company, Animal Pictures. “If I hear myself being like, I’m so tired,” says Lyonne, “that means I’ve lost the gratitude for how extraordinary my circumstance is.” For VF’s February issue, the actor, filmmaker, and producer discusses her volatile upbringing, growing up in New York City, and her fascination with death. Natasha Lyonne (@nlyonne) shoots straight for the heart in ‘His Three Daughters.’ “I cried a lot, against my will,” she says of the poignant family drama. In the film, she plays the estranged step-sibling of two sisters who reunite as their father is dying. “In many ways, I have also felt like an accidental outsider in this life. I thought of all of us who don’t have traditional famiIies. The idea that there’s somebody to say: ‘Hey, it’s okay. You’re living your way. That’s also valid.’” For more from Lyonne and the entire cast of our Best Performances issue, head to the link in bio. – Photography: @mertalas @macpiggott Editor in Chief and Stylist: @saramoonves Writer: #LynnHirschberg Creative Directors at Large: @kevintekinel @charleslevai Visuals & Content Director: @_a_b_g Style Director: @aaalliata Hair: @paulhanlonhair Makeup: @samvissermakeup Manicure: @michellesaundersjames Set Design: @gerardsantos_ Executive Production: @apstudioinc Creative Production to Mert & Marcus: @januaryproductions W VOLUME ONE 2025: THE BEST PERFORMANCES ISSUE
