I wrote this song after taking my first solo trip to New York. It was at a time where I needed to get out of LA, its industry, and my own mind. I felt like a lot of boundaries were placed on me in many aspects of my life. At this point, music and I had a complicated relationship but the moment I came back from my trip this chorus wouldn’t leave my head. I wrote this song as a reminder for me (and certain friends going through similar experiences) to live your life on your own terms, for the plot baby.
