Sarah Lian Instagram – I remember having a conversation with a friend about “deservingness”, it’s a theme that I’ve been struggling with for awhile. Hard work and independence was always taught from an early age, so this meant that if I didn’t work hard for something, I didn’t deserve it.
It also meant that if good things do come to me, I couldn’t fully receive because I didn’t do anything to deserve it. This core belief was central to me and a reason why it was hard to accept the “gifts” in life.
A lot of inner work and self-reflection helped me see where some of these wounds of worthiness/worthlessness stemmed from and why I felt I needed to earn everything that came my way. When I shifted out of this belief, my lens moved scarcity to abundance. My world became lighter, I was no longer stewing in my own pain. I could celebrate others even if I had nothing to celebrate.
So if there’s anything I wish for you – especially those trying to figure out life right now, just know that what’s meant for you will come.
Allow it to arrive and stay in your life because you are worth it. You don’t need to earn or work hard for what is meant for you.
