Superwowstyle Instagram – Psychological trick to: Re-train your brain to make new associations…with things that won’t let you move on.
🤍 Of course this won’t work for serious depression, and may help only slightly if the problem itself is yet to ‘go away’.
🤍 I use this trick frequently to help myself move on faster from situations that no longer persist and of course when my depressive mode isn’t trigged by other factors like ‘hormones’, genetics etc.
❤️🩹 This may seem like ‘over simplifying’ of things, but it does help support the recovery phase tremendously.
Other examples:
▪️Rearrange the house furniture if you have been feeling very ‘blah’ at home, and need to refresh your mind.
▪️ Have a friend come over and stay for a few days, to mix up your daily schedule a bit. Especially helps if you are going through a break up or loss.
▪️Pick up a new hobby (can be something simple like cooking, learning from videos online), and dedicate a fixed time everyday to this. Helps tremendously if you have free time…like after office hours when you see your mind wandering off to negative thoughts.

It’s your life, you create your own second chances, find new meanings, redirections and reality if that’s what helps you…that’s the only thing that matters!
