#Films bring people together often from different walks of life, and a sort of intense bonding experience follows for the length of the shoot. I admit I am grateful to have enjoyed all my co actors’ company across all my 21ish films and made some close friends on some film shoots too, but something about this one, where for the first time I was playing a parent and most of my other fellow parent actors were too, created a different sort of bond. And not sure if it was the casting and #mixed feel of the film or what but we all seemed to be on the same page, similar values, lots of good conversations, lots of laughs and solid friendships. With the rest of the cast, the super kids, captain and crew too, but this post is about the parentals! Not all in the pic.
For starters like me fab @suhaas.ahuja is a #UWC alum. There are not that many of us in the world and I don’t think many in our film industry so this was an immediate connect. I went to @uwcadriatic yonks ago and he to @uwcatlantic , both on scholarships. Schools modelled on mini UNs where diversity, inclusion, helping bring positive change and more are intrinsic. We didn’t know each other before the film, but this shared experience initiated a bond that proved real and then ofcourse we discovered lots of other similar values, including our love of acting and performing. @koel.purie always fun, warm and making fun of me haaha proved to be a super fellow Mum actor. Lots in common. I’m definitely going to be teased for my rambly post by her and probably told good humouredly to zip it haaha! Satyajit, intense, experienced, warm and so lovely too. @alyykhanofficial , who I knew from earlier as he’d acted in a play my Dad, #partapsharma wrote , #begumsumroo way back and we always had a warm bond. Always so charming, fun and reassuring. @kamaalsidhu , who I’ve known a long time too. And more recently re connected with having met at several football events our kids are obsessed players.
