Himani Chowdhary Instagram - Packing done! Travelling light 🤌😅 How I Saved Money in Pattaya 🏝️ 1️⃣ Use Public Transport (not taxis) to travel around the city. It took 10 bahts for a single round along the beach where most of the tourist destinations were situated. 2️⃣ Visit in off season and book the flight tickets for a weekday (not friday) (so I visited in mid may and ticket prices were 10% lower) 3️⃣ If you want to explore the city yourself, hire a bike (will cost around 200-1000 baht depends on which bike you are renting) 4️⃣ Don't worry about the water bottle and food, the cost is same as in India (₹300-400 per meal) 5️⃣ If you are travelling from Pattaya to Bangkok book a bus and not a taxi (if you are actually travelling light, not like me 😿) 👉 It will take around ₹400 one way so total ₹800 6️⃣ Airport is 1.5 hrs away from the main city to reach there, its best to go by Bus or a van (mini bus) which will cost around ₹400-500 one way 7️⃣ Drink the Local Draft beer (₹100-200 pint) 8️⃣ Negotiate Hard! I did that for around 4 years Stable? Yes. Fulfilling? Not quite. By COVID, I realized it was time to pivot But to what? I loved teaching, so I cleared UGC NET in three months and considered a PhD until I realized the world of academia wasn’t for me Too many rules, too little freedom Boom I got married (2021) So I had to keep pursuing my PhD and job Meanwhile, my Instagram content was picking up That’s when it hit me, teaching doesn’t need to happen in a classroom, why not do it online? So, I shifted gears, and made research my life (it still is btw) Along the way, I became AMFI licensed and NISM certified If you’ll ask me, here's what I’ve learned by 30: [1] Nothing is permanent. Jobs, careers, even some relationships - they’re just stepping stones [2] Don’t stay stuck just because you chose something years ago. Reinvent yourself [3] Insurance is boring but essential so get it sorted [4] The big 3- accommodation, transportation and food drain most of your money. Optimize these to save big [5] If you don’t understand money, get help. Don’t DIY when it comes to wealth [6] Talk about finances with your partner, it’s awkward now but saves fights later [7] Every little decision, personal or professional should align with your ethics. Short-term gains aren’t worth long-term peace Also ab main badi ho gayi hun, tameez se baat karna, jo mujse chhote hain aur haan, jo bade bolte hain wahi sahi hota hai 😅 Here's to my next decade 🍾 Happy Birthday to me.

Caption : They say life begins at 30, but honestly I feel like I’ve lived 5 different lives already My 20s were a mix of chaos and taking risks I started post grad in banking, clueless about what “risk management” even meant but soon found myself consulting for Banks and NBFCs at Deloitte. I did that for around 4 years Stable? Yes. Fulfilling? Not quite. By COVID, I realized it was time to pivot But to what? I loved teaching, so I cleared UGC NET in three months and considered a PhD until I realized the world of academia wasn’t for me Too many rules, too little freedom Boom I got married (2021) So I had to keep pursuing my PhD and job Meanwhile, my Instagram content was picking up That’s when it hit me, teaching doesn’t need to happen in a classroom, why not do it online? So, I shifted gears, and made research my life (it still is btw) Along the way, I became AMFI licensed and NISM certified If you’ll ask me, here’s what I’ve learned by 30: [1] Nothing is permanent. Jobs, careers, even some relationships – they’re just stepping stones [2] Don’t stay stuck just because you chose something years ago. Reinvent yourself [3] Insurance is boring but essential so get it sorted [4] The big 3- accommodation, transportation and food drain most of your money. Optimize these to save big [5] If you don’t understand money, get help. Don’t DIY when it comes to wealth [6] Talk about finances with your partner, it’s awkward now but saves fights later [7] Every little decision, personal or professional should align with your ethics.
