Santa is still Out of Office as he’s obvs still wrecked but we did spot Blitzen or Donner (scroll to the end!) – and not a Donner Kebab because that would have been a dark twist in a v scary Scandi Noir 🦌
A massive thank you to @volvocars.ie for taking us to the edge of the Artic Circle and encouraging me to drive the Volvo EX90 on a frozen lake 🥶 (no, no thank you honestly!) And I thought me and my problematic “reversing around a corner” days were behind me.
But I can safely say driving on frozen lakes and not thinking about falling through the ice is absolutely cuter than parallel parking. We even got to do our own ice sculptures and I really wanted to take it home but I wasn’t sure it would travel well, or indeed technically exceed the liquid Mls limit for airport security.
My only gripe was someone forgot to put on the immersion for our Artic plunge. (Yes, that is a hole 🕳️ cut into a literal frozen lake where you get in and wash behind your ears). But at least when you get out it’s a balmy -17 degrees which is lovely.
The fact that the Baltic Sea is frozen during the winter and people drive across it to get to the little islands will forever and ever and ever blow my mind. Amen.
I feel like I can also never again complain it’s cold under say, 10 degrees. And I never know what to pack for a few days away but I will say I’m glad I didn’t bring the strappy high heels and the bandeau dress.
