I’m not great at promoting myself in the best of times, and this past week has not been anything we could confuse with that.

But, I will be performing with my genius friend @jasonrobertbrownstagram at the @segerstromarts in Costa Mesa this Thursday 1/16-Saturday 1/18.

If you live out that way, or don’t mind the drive and need a break, we’d love to have you there to interject a little joy into a week where it’s been literally (asthma and this air quality) and figuratively hard to breathe.

I kept thinking we might cancel, but that’s not what artists do in times of crisis. We create, and we hope to be able to shift the air with what we do- even when we ourselves are struggling.

Now, I’ve been blessed to be safe during this wild week, but SO many are living an active tragedy. The only way I could share the info about our show with a clear conscious is also to highlight someone who really needs assistance.

So this post is also about the beautiful spirit (please forgive the taciturn looking screenshot) that is @blairimani. ELEVEN of her family members have lost their homes and are now living with her and her husband. This includes 5 children, and several sets of parents. Her 85year old aunt has also lost her home. All of them from Altadena and Pasadena. They have lost everything to the Eaton fire. What remains is love, each other and a spirit of perseverance. But they need our help.
