Autumn Reeser Instagram – The collective nervous system of Los Angeles has been pushed to the brink over the past few weeks (mine included). The intensity and trauma will impact this city for years to come. But Los Angeles is the City of Angels for a reason. Watching community rise from the ashes to support each other has been incredible.
Only a few weeks into 2025, this has already been the year of alchemical fire. It’s crucial for us to remember that while deeply painful, fire also purifies. What within our own hearts and souls are we ready to surrender to our inner fires of change?
And we get to remember that fire is also pleasure. Warmth. Food. A nourishing element that brings comfort. I started my year singing songs of joy and praise around a gorgeous campfire, with some of the friends who would eventually lose their homes to the wildfires only a week later. And after the fires, we escaped the shocked city to a mountain cabin, holding each other in our grief as we warmed ourselves by these new and contained flames.
So depending on how she shows up and how we are in relationship with her, fire is essentially neutral, like most things. I respect you, fire. I am humbled by your teachings of this time.
