Beverly Joubert Instagram – Under the very watchful gaze of a herd of zebras, this dominant male paused briefly to shoot us a cursory glance — his eyes burning with intensity — before turning and walking away. It’s always a privilege to spend time with Africa’s big cats, to gain tiny glimpses into their secretive worlds and to slowly unravel the mysteries that dictate life in the pride. As habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict continue to threatened lions (and other wild species), we only hope that we’ll still have the privilege of looking into lion eyes in the future. ⁣
