📸 Modeling digitals— known in the good old days as Polaroids—are an essential tool for models, giving agencies and clients a real-time look at what you actually look like right now. These natural photos highlight your face, body, and features in the simplest form. No matter where you are in your career, updated digitals are a must to book jobs and secure contracts.
💡 Since digitals can make or break opportunities, it’s worth getting them right. Here are some @cocorochamodelcamp tips:
1️⃣ Lighting is everything. Soft, natural sunlight (not direct) works best.
2️⃣ Background matters. A clean, white or neutral wall keeps the focus on you.
3️⃣ Keep posing minimal. We know you own Study of Pose, but for digitals, simplicity wins.
4️⃣ Quality over quantity. Use a high-resolution camera, take at least 150 images, and edit ruthlessly to the best selects.
5️⃣ Dress the part. Stick to neutral, form-fitting clothing like simple jeans and tees. No oversized pieces, busy patterns, or logos.
6️⃣ Go natural. Minimal makeup (or none at all), clean hair (down, in a ponytail, or tucked behind the ear), and plenty of hydration before shooting.
7️⃣ Get the right shots. Full body, ¾ shots, and headshots from the front, diagonal, and profile angles. Generally, keep your camera slightly low—not high.
