I am grateful for the joy I feel today voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. This is a historic moment for our country. And it is a moment where we will reclaim the country that we know and love and believe in, even with all its faults and scars and the growing pains of still being a relatively young nation. There are many wrongs that we have the potential to right.
But the division that has been sown into our families and neighborhoods and communities and across state lines these last few years is something else. It is not the American way and it does not serve the country we cherish.
My faith has been restored watching Kamala and Tim, Doug and Gwen, as they remind me of who we are as citizens, and what it looks like to be leaders authentically dedicated to public service. That means they are devoted to you and to me, and to all of us. Now that’s a lot of people to try to make happy. And we are not all going to always feel like the values that mean the most to us are being addressed. But we need people in leadership, in the White House and in our counties, cities and states, who will listen and commit to serving you and me and the people of this nation, for the sake of the nation.
For anyone who hasn’t voted yet, please know, we have a long way to go, but today, we need to get our country back, our democracy back. So that YOUR rights, YOUR family, YOU – are truly seen, represented, and have a voice in America. With your vote today, give yourself a voice that can make the change that you envision in the world.
