My current goals fitness are mastering handstands, improving mobility, hitting 10 unassisted pull up reps, and increasing my flexibility again🤸🏽♀️.. 😮💨 I’ve been wanting to master handstands for years, but never fully committed. This year I’m determined 🫡.
As we age, our bodies can quickly become more stiff if we don’t keep them dynamic. Progressive overload has greatly changed my body composition, but I’m definitely feeling the effects of strength training so often with lack of focus on a wider range of mobility and stretching. I love mixing in different forms of movement and strength to keep my body agile and strong.
Settling into a place where I want my body to be purposeful, as opposed to my teenage and young adult goal which focused prominently on aesthetics, feels more attainable as my body shifts with age.
Listening to our bodies through each stage of life can bring upon different experiences of movement, and it can be exciting to see what our bodies need next. We’re gifted nuances of ourselves in the twists and turns of life. Having specific goals can keep you eager and inspired and give you a roadmap to follow. I personally love being a student with new skills to learn and capabilities to be explored.
