Most people would never know by looking at me that I have a ‘titanium’ spine/am basically a robot.
SO unfortunately as a teenager I had to have an invasive scoliosis surgery. My bones were so twisted that it was pressing on my lungs and heart. Causing me to constantly not be able to catch my breath. My curve was progressing faster than doctors could brace me. Which is when @shrinershospitals took on my case. So on January 27th, I was admitted for a 14 hour spine surgery. I have 2 rods that go down each side of my spine, 18 bolts and screws, and they removed half of my hip for bone graft. To fuse the middle portion of my spine. So that the curve would forever stop twisting and growing. I was in the hospital for a month, had to learn to walk, how to shower, and wear a full brace for 6 months after. 2 years to fully heal altogether.
BUT That surgery changed my life, and I’ve been able to accomplish so much because of it 🖤
