As we all know, for years, many productions have been leaving LA in search of better tax incentives. After these devastating wildfires, this city needs to bounce back, and fast. Many of us have signed the “Stay in LA” petition that has been circulating on social media. But that’s not enough. We need both our state government to offer a financial incentive to stay here, by increasing California’s film & tv tax incentives to 40% with no cap, and we also need studios and streamers, and many of you wonderful, powerful people in this room right now, to pledge even just 10% more production in LA for the next 3 years as part of the disaster relief effort. That could literally mean the difference between many of our beloved coworkers and crews being able to afford to remain in LA, while this city and this industry we are all so in love with and so lucky to be a part of, rebuilds, together. Thank you for your time.
