Fabienne Colas Instagram – Folks, 13 years ago, we launched the @torontoblackfilmfest (#TBFF) to celebrate Black stories and amplify diverse voices. At the time, I saw Toronto as a fast-paced business & commerce hub. But over the years, this city has revealed itself to be so much more – a place of profound community, open-mindedness, and an unwavering commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural excellence.
With Canada’s largest Black population and over 55% of its residents identifying as visible minorities (Statistics Canada), Area is more than a melting pot—it’s a place that welcomes, uplifts, and amplifies diverse voices like no other.
That’s exactly what #TBFF25 is all about.
From February 12-17, 2025, we invite you to experience a festival like no other – where stories inspire, challenge, and unite us. More than just films, TBFF is a movement – one that continues to break barriers, elevate voices, and celebrate the richness of Black culture in all its forms.
