I had the profound honor of receiving the inaugural #VisionnaireAward from the esteemed Michaëlle Jean at the Black Academy ‘s Legacy Awards debut, broadcast nationwide on CBC!
Her eloquent introduction that evening resonated deeply within me, leaving an indelible impression on my soul. The words I shared about her that night on stage barely scratched the surface of the deep respect and admiration I hold for this remarkable Haitian-Canadian-Montrealer trailblazer, who also holds the historic distinction of being Canada’s first Black woman Governor General.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege to welcome her as a honorary guest at several of our Fondation Fabienne Colas Foundation’s festivals.
Today, I’m thrilled to be hosting the Fondation Michaëlle Jean Foundation’s National Black Canadian Summit’s opening gala in #Montreal on January 31, 2025 – presented by TD!
