Gina Yashere Instagram – It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions these past few weeks. I still can’t believe the home me & the Ninja put our hearts & souls into, is gone.
We picked every aspect of the house, devouring every episode of @hgtv & turning it into a hub for friends & family.
In the few years we had it, our home was the epicenter of epic parties thanksgivings, passovers & impromptu BBQs, just because, & of course #choonsontuesdays
We truly thought we would end our days there.
We were amongst the many who were totally fucked over by our insurance companies. Fuck u and your stupid lizard @geico.
But we count ourselves lucky, that we have somewhere else to stay, & the means to sustain ourselves while we fight the inevitable long lawsuit against those responsible for this fire, & those who will take our money, but not keep up their end of the bargain when the time comes.
It’ll be a few years before we will be able to rebuild, but we can’t wait to get back to #altadena. It’s our favourite place we’ve ever lived & we want to contribute to keeping its legacy alive.
In the meantime, I’m gonna sit here & cry a bit over these memories, then I’m gonna get up & get the fuck on with life.
