4 Months of Darla Rose ♥️♥️ I’m full of emotions as I think about my little baby being 4 months old. I swear it feels like I birthed her yesterday, yet here we are out of the newborn stage. It’s been an unpredictable time in our lives. On top of the newborn bubble that inevitably turns every parent upside down, we moved to a new state, into a new house, I moved my show and company, and we’ve basically just started completely over on every level. It’s fair to say that it’s been a lot more than we expected. It’s been a constant battle to stay present, stay awake, stay strong, stay patient, and stay the course. We gave up a very plug-n-play life in California and it’s been a bit of a slow start getting into any sort of groove after our move. But here we are with an adorable, smiley, happy, talkative, strong, and “big” (almost 10 lbs) 4 month old little baby who has thrived through it all. It’s been countless doctor’s appointments, specialist appointments, caretaker interviews, and hours stressing that we might be missing or forgetting one little thing that could slow her down – but she couldn’t be bothered! She just wanted snuggles, her mom to feed her, her dad to hold her like a football, sissy to make her laugh, and a quiet place to nap all bundled up in her sleep sack. Given everything that’s happening with the California fires, it’s impossible not to feel a deep gratitude for the little things. The highs and lows the past two weeks have been pronounced, as I wished I could be more helpful but also don’t have an ounce of extra strength to contribute. Trying to wrap my head around the tragedy that our neighbors are enduring, while trying to be strong for our family. As I get ready to go back to work full time, my heart aches and the mom guilt comes in overwhelming waves. But of course, we’ll be fine and still spend plenty of time together (all night if it’s up to her – ha!) and my job (which I love and I’m also so excited to go back to) will balance with the new schedule that two kids requires. So today I’m deciding to celebrate! To build my happy and take a minute to reflect on what a wild ride it’s been. (More in Comments👇)
How was your new year celebration? ☺️☺️ #MaternityLeave #BuildYourHappy #RothFamilyStory
Maternity leave is not a vacation. It’s sleepless nights, endless diaper changes, and figuring out how to keep a tiny human alive—while also rediscovering who you are in this new season of life. When I had Darla, I was in awe of this beautiful baby but also completely overwhelmed. I’ve built houses from the ground up, run businesses, and faced plenty of challenges, but nothing prepared me for the mental and physical marathon that is becoming a second-time mom. So, if you’re in it right now—exhausted, emotional, and wondering how you’re going to get through—know this: you’re not alone. Maternity leave isn’t glamorous, but it’s powerful. You’re doing the hardest and most rewarding work there is. 💛 #NewMom #SecondTimeMom #MaternityLeave
