Joanne Wood Instagram – In celebration of @invictafc 58 tomorrow I took a wee trip down memory lane …
▪️first video was my 3rd ever MMA fight that I took on short notice against the golden girl who head butted me, grabbed the cage and bite my arm..(hence the f-you push ups afterwards 😂) but this was the fight that got me noticed by the one and only @shanknapp and little old me finally got my American break to go across the pond, and I will be forever grateful for that chance Shannon took on me!
▪️1st fight on invicta FC and I got a nice wee bonus check for my stoppage win.
▪️2nd fight which is my favourite one as I made a kilt outfit and landed the Silva elbow.
▪️4th video – even though I still had more fights on my contract with @invictafc they let me fight for @cagewarriors as they were coming to my hometown, so I am also forever grateful for being able to be allowed to do that, to stay active and there ain’t nothing like fighting at home.

▪️4th fight with Invicta FC and this one had a whole lot of pressure going in because the winner would be going to TUF and I remember having that phone call with Shannon when she told me this and I was like I’m not sure Il be cut out for reality tv and the ufc..she told me id be great and that I’d always have a home at Invicta and that really stuck with me!
…the UFC then bought my contract and I was shipped off to bake someone a carrot cake in the TUF house 😉😂

This was no easy road from start to finish but if I’ve learnt anything it is there will always be something..that’s life and you just got to roll with it, take the lows with the highs! Never give up ❤️
