My roommate Chiquita brought the stereo and I had the tv, which along with the fact that we kept good snacks, made our tiny shared room in Paddyfote the place to be. We watched our stories by day and blasted Salt N Pepa, Terence Trent D’Arby, Prince, and Michael Jackson by night. I shut my side of the room down by 9:00, but Chiquita kept her half going all through the night. I was so proud of this tv because I’d bought it with money I had made working at Six Flags. For most of us, success has not been overnight, but years of sacrifices and small wins that have made us believe we can keep pushing and striving for more.
