The Forgotten Her Story Presents:
‘Mother Weaver’ offers an intimate glimpse into the life of renowned art collector Ursula Hauser, and some of the incredible female artists she has championed: Pipilotti Rist, Louise Bourgeois, Luchita Hurtado, Ida Applebroog and Alina Szapocznikow.
Through the lens of these female artists, and in discussion with Ursula’s daughter Manuela, ‘Mother Weaver’ explores themes of maternal absence or presence, birth and death. The film was created to celebrate the exhibition, ‘The Mother and The Weaver’ at London’s Foundling Museum, once home to 25,000 displaced and abandoned children across several centuries.
