Molly Sims Instagram – I’m still pinching myself over the KINDA PREGNANT premiere last night. @netflix Four years ago, my friend @brookemahan told me about our kids’ first-grade teacher, @julieannepaiva , having written a hilariously raw comedy about a woman so desperate to start a family that she ends up faking a pregnancy. 1. I didn’t know Julie was an incredible writer 2. My other half is the actual movie producer in the family! But something just immediately connected with me when I read the script. I also knew it would resonate with so many women.
And after FOUR FREAKING years, getting Happy Madison Productions and @adamsandler on board, getting Amy Schumer on this who I NEVER thought we’d be able to get… here we are, Kinda Pregnant releasing TOMORROW for all of you to see.
What I’m most excited about is how real this film feels. Yes, it’s really freaking funny, but it’s also totally unfiltered. A story about women that I don’t think is often shared. The great parts, the scary parts and all of the inbetween. It doesn’t sugarcoat the wild, emotional ride that is pregnancy and motherhood. I’m so proud of this movie and hope it makes people feel seen, heard, and understood.
And now, for all the thank you’s… it’s long so buckle up. 😂 To @brookemahan and @julieannepaiva for suggesting I read this script and trusting me with it. To @adamsandler and the Happy Madison team for believing in US and this story. To @amyschumer for not just agreeing to be a part of this but for quite literally making this TEN FOLD what it could’ve been.
