“Palestinians have the right to return, rebuild, and live in freedom on their land. Gaza was destroyed with our weapons — now Trump wants to ethnically cleanse Palestinian survivors to create resort properties for his developer friends and family. We must rise up together, use everything we have, to finally end the suffering our government inflicts. Peace and justice are for all of us, or for none of us. What we allow in Gaza, we allow everywhere.” — Susan Sarandon (@susansarandon), actor, activist, and Artist4Ceasefire #Artists4Ceasefire #PermanentCeasefireNow #CompassionMustPrevail #JusticeMustPrevail #NotYourRiviera

We stand with international humanitarian and human rights organizations, unions, policymakers, grassroots movements, a majority of Americans, and citizens around the world calling on our leaders to uphold U.S. and international law.* It is illegal to supply or use weapons to commit “grave human rights violations,” including striking schools or hospitals, restricting humanitarian aid, and killing children. In partnership with @oxfamamerica, @actionaidusa, @warchilduk and @childreninconflict, @Artists4Ceasefire stands for an immediate and permanent ceasefire now, the release of all hostages, delivery of humanitarian aid, and freedom, justice, dignity and peace for all people. The “Barb Wire Peace Dove,” by renowned artist Shepard Fairey, (@obeygiant) represents our common humanity, and the action needed to save precious lives. Approximately 1,200 Israelis were killed on October 7th, 2023 and over 200 were taken hostage by Hamas. In the last 11 months, Israel’s military operations in Gaza have killed at least 40,000 Palestinians, 16,500 of them children. Starvation, dehydration, and disease have reached devastating levels in Gaza, with nearly all 2.2 million people there displaced from their homes. Stop Weapons. Save Lives. Compassion Must Prevail. #Artists4Ceasefire #PermanentCeasefireNow #StopWeaponsSaveLives For more, visit artists4ceasefire.org *Foreign Assistance Act, Arms Export Control Act, Geneva Conventions of 1949

We are fast running out of time for President Biden to pardon me. There are only 12 days left in his term. I therefore have decided to embark today on a new phase of our advocacy campaign to try to grab the President’s attention and force a decision. The campaign includes a series of graphics that will be placed on social media like the one above. I want to humbly ask everyone to share it and the other graphics we plan to post far and wide as it is vital that people all over the world know about the enormous stakes involved. I also want to thank @susansarandon, @rogerwaters, @thelukemullen, and @repmcgovern for the support. Our campaign is gaining major traction thanks to each of you. To repeat: this pardon is a matter of fundamental justice for me and my family, for the Amazon communities in Ecuador who won the landmark pollution case against Chevron, and for our entire society. I am urging the President to see this as an opportunity to help a human rights lawyer do his work and also to send a clear message that corporate criminal prosecutions violate the rule of law and will never again be tolerated in this country. Chevron and the fossil fuel industry oppose my request because they want the right to abuse the law to intimidate and directly jail those who hold them accountable, as Chevron did to me. It’s a corporate playbook that must be ended once and for all. To learn more or to help, please go to FreeDonziger.com. Deeply grateful.❤️❤️❤️
We’re not just pulling a rabbit out of a hat with this cast. Well we did… But it was for the lovely @susansarandon to give Shades a performance so fun, it must be magic! You can see it for yourself by hopping into theaters on October 18th to watch #GracieAndPedro: Pets to the Rescue.
The mother of all champions 👑 @susansarandon is the GOAT of #TheGutter, now playing in theaters and on digital. 🔗➡️ theguttermovie.com
“Compassion— and international law— must prevail.” – James Elder, UNICEF 10/13/23 One year ago, Artists4Ceasefire echoed the prescient words of @james_unicef in our open letter, calling on global leaders to act with compassion, prevent further loss of life in Palestine and Israel, and follow the existing laws in place to protect humanity. The 1,200 Israelis killed and over 200 taken hostage in the Hamas-led attack on 10/7, and 5,000 Palestinians killed in Gaza by Israeli bombardment at the time of publishing, was an already catastrophic loss of life. One year later, the images we are seeing from Gaza and Lebanon are an unbearable repetition of the wholesale destruction of life. More than 43,000 Palestinians (over 186,000 according to The Lancet) and over 2,000 people in Lebanon have been killed by Israeli bombardment, and 9 Israeli hostages have been killed by Hamas or by Israeli assaults. Israeli evacuation orders and bombing have forcibly displaced at least 90% of Gaza’s population, many of them multiple times, and over 1 million people in Lebanon. An estimated 400,000 Palestinians are under Israeli siege and bombardment in northern Gaza without access to food, water, fuel, or medical care – with starvation and disease already widespread. Every moment of suffering that continues is a decision by @potus, many members of Congress, and global leaders who have the power to end this nightmare now. We will continue to demand that those in power finally take action to end the catastrophic suffering of millions of people, and the destruction of pathways to a just and lasting peace. Keep raising your voice to call on those in power to secure a ceasefire, save lives, and stop supplying the weapons being used in violation of domestic & international law. Contact the White House today and tell @potus to save lives now by following domestic & international law, and ending the illegal supply of offensive weapons to Israel.
