Yvonne Orji Instagram – I had the distinct honor and privilege to MC this year’s @15percentpledge gala. With displaced Black and Brown families between the Altadena and Palisades fires, and DEI programs under attack, this years gala could have been somber and bleak, but ain’t no way, we goin out like that!

It was a delicate balance to bridge humor & heart, honesty with humanity, but bayybbeee we did what needed to be done and SHOWED UP for one another. Together we showed Black founders, brands and creatives, that WE will make space for them. WE will help them grow. And WE will build them up and build them back, stronger than ever. Cuz that’s what WE do and what WE’ve ALWAYS done!

The dress code was Black Tie, Black Designer, so I had to represent with that Naija Green with a custom gown by Nigerian designer, @vicnateng. Shoes by Black-owned @jessicarichofficial, and jewelry by Black brand, @earring_envy.
