Zara McDermott Instagram – I am beyond thrilled and honoured to announce that I am now an ambassador for Refuge. I have partnered with a Refuge for many years, so to become an ambassador is such a wonderful opportunity that I cannot wait to grasp with both hands. Using my platform to both create documentaries around violence against women, and to be an advocate has always been incredibly important to me. Pretty much since I came out of Love Island almost 7 years ago, I felt that I had a big job to do with the audience that I was given. Violence against women and girls is an epidemic. It’s not going anywhere any time soon, and I very much hope that I can be a small part of a process where change happens.
I have lots of ideas and ambitions for my role as an ambassador. I’ve been straight to work brainstorming what I can do with this new role and I will share with you soon what I’ve come up with🩷 as you guys may know from following me a few years ago, I have a real passion about going into schools and speaking to young people. I really hope that as part of this process I can engage with schools to help target the younger demographic. We cannot allow violence against women to be a growing problem. We must dump this behaviour out as early as possible.
