Ally Maki Instagram – #AcadiaPartner When you hear the words Parkinson’s disease, you may think of the motor symptoms – like tremors. What many people may not realize is that people with Parkinson’s disease may experience both motor and non-motor symptoms.
Caring for my dad, who lived with Parkinson’s disease, was one of the most meaningful and challenging experiences of my life. We thought we knew what to expect, but I had no idea that around 50% of people with Parkinson’s disease may experience hallucinations and/or delusions over the course of their disease.
I wish I’d known then what I know now, and am sharing my story in hopes of helping others.
