Ayanna Pressley Instagram – Their little hands, their soft red curls. Every life is a universe. Every child is a precious blessing. Like so many parents around the globe I am shattered as I grieve for Kfir and Ariel and their mother Shiri. The past year we have seen the rights of children in conflict decimated. The basic human rights of Israeli and Palestinian children disregarded with such callous cruelty. These little boys should be running around their bedroom in batman costumes and squealing as their dad wraps them in a bear hug. In every grief-filled moment I have spent with hostage families this past year, one theme has been the same: the love is deep and the pain unending. And so many have expressed what I feel to be true: our destinies—Israeli, Palestinian and American—are deeply tied. An end to these horrors and lasting peace is so desperately long overdue.
