Briana Venskus Instagram – A few years ago I was asked to be the Queen of @ncazaleafest… I said yes thinking it would be a great opportunity to pretend I was on The Crown… but it turned out to be way more than that.
Over the course of the festival I was able to meet and hang with people from all walks of life (including @icecube ) I was blown away by the respect I was met with by every person, and while the festival is most definitely rooted in southern tradition my home state pulled through and proved that adaptability is a key component of tradition.
I was the first LGBTQueen the festival had and while some people were unsure of me at the time, I can proudly say that by the end of the week I was also crowned the Festivals ‘most down to earth’ queen.
If you’re in NC during the festival, I highly recommend attending one or any of the events. They have art shows, garden tours, music, and so much more.
