Charlize Theron Instagram – Every year, World AIDS Day is a stark reminder that we’re so far from where we should be in eradicating this virus. But this year, I’m finding hope in the young changemakers leading the way to an AIDS-free future, so I’m extremely proud to hand over my Instagram to the amazing Nomonde Ngema, a young HIV activist from my home country of South Africa. Nomonde’s advocacy work protecting the rights of people living with HIV – especially women and girls – has inspired me and our team at CTAOP , and I know you’ll be inspired by her, too.
Ending AIDS as a public health threat is only possible when the rights of women and girls are protected and upheld. This means improving their social and economic opportunities and ensuring they have the resources and
knowledge to make informed choices to lower their risk of HIV. The path that ends AIDS is a “rights” path.
Right here all day today, Nomonde will share her journey and the powerful work she’s doing to empower young women like her.
Join me, @unaidsglobal, @ctaop, & @ibano.monde in our call for protecting the human right to health for everyone, everywhere.
