Visually impaired/ blind members from Jamaica Society for the Blind to join our audience.
This is the first pilot in a series of engagements that
aim to gather feedback and insight into how we can make movie theaters and by extension,entertainment spaces in Jamaica more accessible to audiences who may have special needs.
Members of the Crew including Writer/Director @cosmusart Cinematographer @gabrielleblackwood, Wardrobe Stylist @bakersgoods Film Producer @tashlee876 and @justessjoan ( Also Legal) and Cast member @mena_da_boss answered questions from the audience as well as shared insight into the mechanics of the Jamaican film industry.
Special Thanks to our partners @bobmarleyfoundation @saeedojo @m_oneja @createwithalt @hypetvjamaica for helping to facilitate this pilot, and to @mangomagicmovie “Stinky Mango” film Director Ina Sotirova for agreeing to take on the challenge of live audio description and for creating this beautiful visual conversation around men’s mental health. Our final screening for Women’s month curation is this Thursday March 27. Gates open 6pm.
