Gabby Logan Instagram – Ahead of International Women’s Day this Saturday, I brought together an incredible group of women to discuss the journey to gender parity—reflecting on the progress we’ve made and what still needs to be done to achieve true equality.
My four guests have all achieved sporting greatness, redefining what it means to be a female in sport: @kazcarney, who played football over 100 times for England; hurdler @sallygunnell, who once held the Commonwealth, European, World, and Olympic titles simultaneously; @realdeniselewis, the first British woman to win Olympic gold in the heptathlon; and two-time Olympic champion @helenglovergb, who defied expectations by returning to the Olympics after becoming a mother.
These remarkable women have all overcome immense gender barriers in elite sport, and are committed to creating a better future for the next generation of women, no matter their goals or ambitions. Their determination, resilience — and not to mention, competitive spirit — perfectly embody the need to #AccelerateAction this International Women’s Day.
