Heather Tom Instagram – 8 years ago I took my son into a voting booth and I let him punch the ticket for the first woman president. The hope we felt that day, the pride he had walking into his preschool with his (my) “I voted!” sticker was palpable.
Freedom is not a given. Rights come with responsibility. It is our obligation to be informed, to listen, to advocate AND agitate! It is our job to protect our democratic values, our individual freedoms, and our collective dignity. Most of all, as good citizens, good Americans, good HUMANS, we must care for one another. No matter what we look like, who we love, or whether we agree, we are nothing if we don’t care for our neighbors.
