Jenna Johnson Instagram – Had a very sentimental day on tour today. 12 years ago (almost to the day) I auditioned for So You Think You Can Dance at the Orpheum Theater in Memphis, Tennessee.
I wasn’t going to audition for the show because I was so focused on my competitive Latin career. My mom knew I wasn’t fully happy at that time and convinced me to fly with her to the last audition city SYTYCD had to offer. I had always dreamed of being on the show (and becoming a professional dancer in LA) but didn’t know if I would make it or if it was the right direction for me to take. Without her encouragement and belief in me pursuing my dreams, I’m not sure where I would have ended up.
Tonight I get to perform in this beautiful theater again, where it all began for me. A very full circle moment!! I want to dedicate tonight’s performance to my beautiful Mama.
