Renowned for her monumental sculptures and thought-provoking installations, @JoanaVasconcelosatelier (*1971) infuses her work with humour, irony, and a sharp critique of contemporary society. Her artistic journey has taken her to some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including @ChateauVersailles, the @MuseoGuggenheim Bilbao, and @PalazzoPitti in Florence, cementing her position as a leading figure in contemporary art.
At BRAFA 2025, she presents two of her spectacular Valkyries’ textile sculptures inspired by Norse mythology: ✨ Seondeok, named after the first queen in Korea’s history and ✨ Léonie La Fontaine, named after the Belgian pioneering feminist and pacifist.
These vibrant, larger-than-life creations have transformed Brussels Expo with their bold colours, rich textures, and monumental forms, offering an immersive experience like no other.
